Hello Goddess's
I am currently writing a book called “Reflection of Her’. It is a deep dive into aging and how it affects us as woman, what it means, and who we are underneath when our youth is no longer looking back at us in the mirror. Here is a few paragraphs from the book. This section “Who am I beyond what I see in the mirror” I felt this deeply when I was writing it. A sadness came but then a softening. A breathe. I am enough in every stage and chapter of my life. You are enough. I feel like it is time for us woman to stop putting beauty and age above our worth. We are so much more…
There comes a point when many women begin asking a different question. A more important question.
If my appearance changes...If my body changes...If the face in the mirror continues to evolve...Who am I then?
What remains when I am no longer measuring myself against an image?
What remains when I stop evaluating and start listening?
The truth is that your appearance has never contained the whole of who you are. It never could.
You are more than the face that greets you each morning. More than a photograph. More than a reflection. More than the features that time inevitably changes. You are the woman who has loved. The woman who has lost. The woman who has learned. The woman who has survived difficult seasons and celebrated beautiful ones. You are your memories. Your values.
Your compassion. Your wisdom. Your laughter. Your resilience. Your story.
None of those things disappear when your appearance changes. None of those things become less valuable with age. The challenge is not learning how to stop aging. The challenge is learning how to see yourself more completely. To recognize that the woman looking back at you in the mirror is only one small part of who you are. And perhaps, for the first time in a long time, to become curious about this next chapter in your life.
Because aging is not asking you to become less of yourself. It is inviting you to become more of yourself. To release the belief that your value lives in your reflection and discover the deeper truth that it has always lived within you.
The lines on your face tell stories. The softness in your eyes carries wisdom. The woman you are becoming deserves the same love, admiration, and acceptance you so freely offer to others.
Perhaps this season is not about mourning who you once were, but honoring her for bringing you here. And then gently embracing the woman you are today.
Whole.
Worthy.
Enough.
Exactly as you are.
Blessings
