I’ve been thinking a lot about worth lately. Not the kind that comes from accomplishments or how much money is in your bank account. Not the kind that’s measured by what you’ve done for everyone else. The quieter kind. The kind that shows up when you’re standing in front of a decision that could change your life or a pivotable moment.
I’ve noticed something about myself over the years. Whenever an opportunity came along that would help me heal, grow, learn, or become more of who I knew I was meant to be… my first instinct was excitement. But then, just a quickly, it turned into negotiation.
I’d ask myself if I really needed it. I’d wonder if I could wait a little longer. I’d tell myself there were more practical things I should spend the money on. That other people needed me more. That maybe one day, when everything lined up perfectly, it would finally be my turn.
It’s funny how easily we can justify investing in everyone else. Yet when it’s us… suddenly we become accountants of our own worth.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t actually questioning the opportunity. I was questioning whether I was worthy of receiving it. That was a difficult truth to sit with.
It still shows up in my life today ...after all the I healing and growth I’ve been through. I have grown. I have forgiven. I had rebuilt pieces of myself I thought I’d lost. But healing has a beautiful way of revealing another layer.
It whispers, “Here’s another place where you can love yourself more deeply.”
I’ve also learned that not every “yes” comes from love. Sometimes we say yes because we’re desperately hoping something outside of us will fix what feels broken inside.
I’ve done that too. I’ve chased answers because I was afraid to sit with the questions. But there have also been moments when a different kind of yes arrived. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t emotional. It didn’t need convincing. It simply felt like coming home to myself.
Those are the moments I trust now. Not because they’re logical or guaranteed, but because they feel rooted instead of reactive.
I’ve started noticing that my intuition doesn’t argue with me. Fear argues. Fear presents evidence. Fear makes spreadsheets.
Love simply places a quiet knowing in my heart and waits for me to notice it. That knowing has become one of my greatest teachers. It doesn’t always ask me to choose the easiest path. It almost never asks me to choose the cheapest one. But it always asks me to choose the path that honors the woman I’m becoming.
To me, that’s the essence of the Warrior Goddess. She isn’t fearless. She isn’t perfect. She doesn’t have every answer. She simply stops abandoning herself. She stops asking the world for permission to become who she already knows she is. I think that’s what this season of my life has been about.
Not proving my worth or earning my place. Not waiting until I feel “ready.”…just remembering. Remembering that the woman I’ve been searching for has been walking beside me all along. And maybe that’s what worth really is. Not something we have to find… just something we finally stop arguing with.
So if you’re standing in front of a decision that feels bigger than your comfort zone, I hope you don’t just listen to the voice that tells you all the reasons you should wait.
I hope you leave room for the whisper.
Because sometimes the whisper already knows what your future is gently asking you to become.
And sometimes… choosing yourself isn’t the selfish decision.
It’s the sacred one.
