Connection.
For most of my life, this has been a struggle for me.
I never felt completely comfortable connecting with others. It was as if there was an invisible filter between me and the world—a wall that kept me from fully letting people in and from fully being seen.
But what is connection, really?
Connection is belonging. It is feeling understood. It is meaningful conversations, shared experiences, vulnerability, intimacy, and trust. It is the moment when we feel seen and accepted for who we truly are.
Connection reminds us that we matter.
It also acts as a mirror, reflecting back how we show up in the world. If we are hiding, distancing ourselves, protecting our hearts, or holding back pieces of who we are, can we truly experience connection?
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I show up in the world.
The truth is, I am cautious about who I connect with and how deeply I allow those connections to go. I know much of that comes from past disappointments and deceptions. Those experiences taught me to be careful. They taught me to protect myself.
And while protection has its place, sometimes it can become a prison.
Vulnerability has always been a place I reserved for only a chosen few. Yet when I sit quietly with my inner wisdom, she gently asks:
“What are you afraid of?”
My answer is always the same.
“Being hurt. Being deceived. Being disappointed.”
But my healing journey has taught me something important.
I cannot control what others do.
I cannot control what others say.
I cannot control whether someone stays, leaves, understands me, or misunderstands me.
I am only accountable for how I show up.
And how I want to show up is authentic, confident, open-hearted, and real.
I want to walk this path with grace.
Grace in knowing that I am exactly as I am meant to be.
Grace in allowing myself to be seen, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Grace in trusting that my worth is not determined by how others respond to me.
This is the essence of the Warrior Goddess.
She does not hide behind her wounds.
She does not build walls so high that love, friendship, and connection cannot reach her.
She honors the lessons of her past, but she refuses to let them define her future.
The Warrior Goddess understands that true strength is not found in guarding her heart. True strength is found in opening it.
She allows herself to be seen.
She welcomes meaningful connections into her life.
She trusts her intuition, honors her boundaries, and remains open to the beauty that connection can bring.
The Goddess Essence within her knows that every person enters our lives for a reason. Some arrive to teach us lessons. Some arrive bearing gifts. Some arrive to remind us of our worth. And some arrive simply to love us.
Perhaps connection is not about finding people who will never hurt us.
Perhaps connection is about having the courage to show up as ourselves anyway.
To be seen.
To be known.
To be authentic.
To trust that whatever unfolds, we will be okay.
And maybe that is the greatest lesson of all.
The Warrior Goddess does not fear connection.
She remembers that her heart is strong enough to hold both love and disappointment, both joy and loss.
She knows that her worth is sacred, her presence is enough, and her light was never meant to be hidden.
She was born to connect.
And so were you.
